Discovery Cruise Line, which carries 200,000 passengers annually between Ft. Lauderdale and Grand Bahama Island, announced its summer program designed specifically for teens traveling with their parents.
It was certainly no pleasure cruise. Local writer and magazine editor Peter Robson has just returned from quite the adventure. Robson was aboard the 68 ft. Victoria Canada during a leg of the 2005/06 Clipper Round the World yacht Race.
The "Senior Center Cruise" will embark on its maiden cruise on Monday, June 12. The new event is part of the Orcas Island Yacht Clubs' community outreach program. The intent is to provide an opportunity for island seniors without boats to have an enjoyable day on the water.
